    Multi-Chamber Arduino Brewpi

I've been doing a lot of work with Jonathan Groner of Heroic Ales in Virginia with his instructable on making a multi-chamber brewpi based on the Arduino uno instead of the more expensive (and MUCH less DIY) Proton controller board. As the original Arduino design has been phased out in favour of...

Particle Photon (as used in Brewpi controller)

This buy is pretty much for the techno-geeks. I'm going to make some Brewpi Spark controllers and was going to order the brains and build the rest myself. My design idea is to build a version of this http://www.brewpi.com/introducing-brewpi-spark/ without the touch screen, fancy case and...

    Matto's "mb-squared" Gantry Crane Build

Right next door to the Matto's Battleaxe Brewery is Matto's Battleaxe(?) Woodworking shop. He's got some awesome industrial gear and is going to make some awesome woodworking projects in there someday. He asked me to help him build a simple frame for a winch, but after some thought and...

    Pressurised fermentation fitting

This small project is for pressurised fermentation in a 50l SS keg. This particular fitting is for a DIN with a screw on spear. I'm trying to sort the length of the pickup tube. Any ideas where a good distance from the bottom would be?

    Heating element project

I've noticed a trend on the forum with heating elements. There seems to be a lot of trouble with them. I've taken up the task of designing a Triclover style heating element that will hopefully over-come all these issues. The design is quite simple and must fulfil the following (with...

Is this some sort of shut off valve?

This is some sort of secondary regulator that is coming off the bottom of a CO2 regulator. I've taken it apart and can see that it's designed to shut down flow once the beer line pressure goes high. Is this to prevent over-carbonation? It's off an Allbar regulator.

The conudrum of ordinary homebrew - Instructable

After making last evening, an evening of ordinary homebrew, I’ve decided to post this as an instructable of sorts on dealing with the bane of a not-so-great brew. So without further adieu..... Everyone's first couple brews have some to be desired. It's like a rite of passage. Some like myself...

1/2 to DIN keg screw top - for pressurised fermentation

Hey guys. I've got 4 DIN keg spear sliders I'm converting to pressurised fermentation caps for DIN kegs. This is the easiest way I've found to tee off for a spunding valve and gauge. A dip tube can be made into the tee for easy decanting into back pressurised bottles, These are all off of...

    Ethical chocolate

My Missus just handed me a chunk of this "ethical chocolate" and it was pretty shit. It was grainy and not very smooth or milky. I feel guilty for not liking it...

Red Duck - Limited Release - Sitka

I picked up a 6-pack of Red Duck brews from a boutique bottle-o in Leura this weekend. I've tried the Dark - IPA and it was ok but a bit bitter for my tastes.. It really lingered and I'm not a fan of tasting my beer 5 minutes later. I'm not saying it was bad, it just isn't for me. I'm now on to...

    Anyone recognise this bottle?

I've purchased this NT Drought bottle from an antique store for just a few dollars because it's very unique (to me at least) and in super good shape. No wear, no tear and the label is perfect. I know it's a CUB bottle but was wondering how old it was, etc..

What do I do with VERY old beer?

I've been gifted about 300Ltrs of beer that's been sitting in a garage for 5 years. It was left-over (and forgotten about) from a wedding and apparently the beer has outlived the marriage.. These were all brand new sealed kegs and range from Becks to Tooheys New and everything in between. I...

    Bulk CO2 - Sydney area

I bought a G cylinder of argon from a mate of mine who owns a gas company and asked if he would be interested in doing me a deal on a G size CO2. His company doesn’t offer G size cylinder CO2 but said he’d be interested if he could get a few out. I pushed it one step further and asked for one...

I'm looking for expressions of interest on a huge order of truncated fermenter cones as pictured below. These could be picked up in either Melbourne (pending someone to handle them there) or West Sydney. I'd be happy to ship anywhere in Australia if you pay shipping. Material 304SS 2B finish...

    Sodium Percarbonate - Sydney/Hills District

Hey guys, I just bought a 25kg bag of perc and was just putting it out that if anyone in the NSW Hills district wanted some, just let me know. My cost was $4/kg delivered and I'm happy to sell it on at that price. While I did find a cheaper supplier, no one wanted to deal with shipping to...
