    Cider Toucan

Hey dave, That looks like one hell of a blend. I think I will give your recipe a bash just the way it is. Did you add water to make it up to 18 litres or is a short brew with only what you have above? Cheers BDA Yah gotta love experimenting :P

    Cider Toucan

Hey Doc, Thanks for that, I made a cider a while back using 18 litres juce (preservitive free) and a tin of Brigilow concentrate and I got to say it was not real flash, it didnt have any real flavour to it. It tasted very light (thin, lacking flavour)with bugger finish. I would like to get...

    Cider Toucan

Hi Guys, I am about to put down a cider for the minister of finance and war, and was thinking, since I have done a few Toucan beers rather successfully in the past, maybe I could do a cider Toucan. Has anyone had a go at this before and if so was it drinkable? <_< Look forward to any coments...

Bar Fridge Compressor, I Need One!

Hi Guys, First post in a while, I have just clocked up my 102 kit brew, and still feel like a kid in a lolly shop when it comes time to tap a new keg. I have just become the proud owner of a 3 glass door under bar fridge. It came out of a pub that was closing down near home, along with that I...

    The Worst Commercial Beer!

Thanks for the spelling Geoff, It was propably as much the treatment of the cans in transit as the oil additives that did for the taste, but hey after 7 or 12 of them in a dry country where it was illegal to drink anything alcoholic, its all good. :super:

    The Worst Commercial Beer!

I'm with you Festa, I was banished to Port Saide for about 8 months with work a few years back and the only Anaesthetic I could get there was the Stella (or a very dangerous heart stopping scotch). I would rate it up there with the worst beer ever. You could sit down to a well earned beer at the...

    Licorice In Stout?

Hi Paxton, I have a few stouts and found the Toucan stouts to have the fuller bodied taste that I tend like. I havent used licorice in a brew yet, however I have used Black jelly beans to carbonate the stout in the bottles. At the 4-5 week mark on the first tasting I was beginning to question...

    Am I Drinking Too Much

Just to answer your actual question, HELL YES buy another vat!! :beerbang: As for the concern regarding you liver, i say thats what its there for, cold filtering! If you dont use it you run the risk of it getting lazy and out of condition. 75 litres a month works out to roughly 3 tallies a...

    Bok, Would This Work

Hi mxairtime, regarding the kit Bock, I am drinking a Black Rock Bock now brewed with 500grm dex, 1kg dme. Then brewed as per the can. It turned out bloody good I am enjoying it at the moment and will be doing again, next time I might do it with lme instead of the dme. BREW ON :super:

Yet Another "can I Bottle It Now?" Thread

I agree with Enerjex and shuster, I have just kegged a stout today that has been in the fermenter since the 25th may and it was static on the SG reading for 7 days. Also it iss not unusual for me to leave a brew for a week (sometimes more) in the fermenter after the airlock has stopped...

    Anyone Done A Fourcan?

The last toucan I did was a wander draught and wander munich lager. At first taste I thought I had made a blue as it was very ordinary (malty and quite hoppy) but after 2 weeks in keg at 4deg it was actually bloody good, and the keg didnt last to the 4 week mark. I have also just kegged today...

    What Should I Do

Shake/swerl the fermenter gently then leave for a couple of days and see if the airlock works any harder than it is at the moment. if no further movement then keg it. PS you should have listened the first time I told you this

    Anyone Done A Fourcan?

Thanks for the idea FP, I was thinking of doing: 1 Coopers stout 2 Cooper dark ales 1 Drought/lager (cheapest can off the shelf) 1 kg brown sugar and some Fuggles But your recipe above looks worth giving a shot, I might still go the brown sugar though. I was going to throw in all the yeasts...
