    Home Made Yoghurt

Also, interesting information .. according to my dietician, Bornhoffen is the most natural yoghurt available in Coles and Woolworths in Australia. I can't speak for boutique brands sold in smaller places, though.

    Home Made Yoghurt

I have Easiyo yoghurt makers. We started with Easiyo natural yoghurt sachet and just used a couple spoonfuls from each batch to make up the next batch. I boost the cheap milk with a spoonful or two of powdered milk. Makes excellent yoghurt. We add jams and stuff to it for sweetness, or just...

What are you brewing in QLD

Son and I are brewing a Morgan's Queenslander lager at the moment. No extras other than sugar in case there's a heatwave. The weather's been unusually cool for this time of year so should be ok. Did a Cooper's lager last time and it turned out fine. I don't have any cooling apparatus, just a...

Does clear glass bottle affect the taste of brewed beer?

After a lot of hard work testing various beer bottles in that batch, we have come to the clear (albeit hiccupy) conclusion that it is indeed the clear bottles that causes the funny taste. Only using brown bottles from now on for home brewing - the clear bottles have been transferred to the...

    HEAD RETENTION OF GLASSES

We found that daughter was drinking milk in the glasses used for beer. We keep the beer glasses separate now. The milk really affected the beer even though we washed them thoroughly.

Does clear glass bottle affect the taste of brewed beer?

The funny thing is the beer in the glass bottles was fine till they were in the fridge a couple of days .. Im guessing it might have been the light from the fridge.

    Making Sarsaparilla Soft Drink

I thought I might add Sarsaparilla cordial to this recipe: Basic Soda Base (2 liters) Ingredients: 2.25 liters water (some will boil off) 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup mildly flavored honey, such as clover 4 tsp. lemon juice (added at end of boil) 1 tsp. per liter of yeast mix, from 1 packet...

    "This tastes like Crownies"

Not sure if that is supposed to be an insult or not to a home brewer .. but considering it was the first brew I ever did, being told "this tastes like Crownies" isn't too bad. At least they didn't say it tasted like VB! (No offence intended to VB lovers - it's all a matter of personal taste)...

Adding lemon to Morgan's Queenslander Lager kit?

Thanks folks. I'm currently waiting on getting a dead fridge to use for temp control with ice blocks. Will be a few weeks though.

Adding lemon to Morgan's Queenslander Lager kit?

Perhaps a better question would be .. how can I get a light easy drinking lager out of the Morgan's Queenslander beer kit?

Adding lemon to Morgan's Queenslander Lager kit?

Thank you. I should add that I'm not using a Cerveza kit due to the heat, I can control the temperature so it stays under 28 degrees but that's it. The Morgan's Queenslander range can cope with those temperatures.

Adding lemon to Morgan's Queenslander Lager kit?

I admit to liking Coronas. Let me apologise for that firstly, and secondly, to obtain a similar, but hopefully improved taste, would adding lemon juice and lemon rind to the Morgan's Queenslander Lager kit, along with 500g malt and 500g dextrose, achieve this goal?
