    First go at bulk priming

G'day, I would like to try bulk priming as I have had indifferent(usually overcarbonated) results from the drops. I don't want to rack to secondary so can I just boil the dextrose in a small amount of water and add it to the fermenter without stirring to avoid clouding up the beer? Should I give...

G'day, gonna try an extract. I've got a few recipes picked out but most state LME but having to mailorder ingrediants I've only got plenty of DME, what is the amount of dry malt to match 1kg of liquid malt? Brew Cellar American Ale Yeast

Putting Beer In Fridge After Fermentation

I'll definately back what EK said, I'm in Central Queensland(Biloela), we've had a couple of weeks when temps were down to 6 and 8 degrees and 25 during the day( so I'm not sure what the bottle temp would've been. I've tried a brew that was a month old and tasted very green and just carbed, I...

    Leaking Tap

Has anyone else had this, I just went and invested in a third fermenter(the missus wasn't quite annoyed enough with me doing 2 brews at a time). This fermenter had a white tap and with the fermenter now on its second brew I saw that there were a couple of drops of brew stuck in the tap outlet. I...

    Coopers Australian Pale Ale

I've done one CPA with 1kg BE2 and supplied yeast and it wasn't bad but then I did a CPA with 1kg BE2 and recultured yeast from three CPA stubbies and I couldn't believe the difference and how closer it came to the original. cheers Kingo

    Coopers Yeast For Stout

G'day, doing a toucan stout (coopers stout & dark ale, maybe 250g brown sugar) and was going to reculture a couple of coopers pale ale stubbies. Am wondering if coopers use the same yeast in their best extra stout as they do in the pale ale? am I better off tracking down a best extra stout...

    Still Fermenting I Think

G'day Mantis, I had the same thing - Krausen had fallen away to a thin layer and bubbled along every minute or so, I didn't end bottling until the 12th or 13th day but I am glad I waited. Checked the bottles today and crystal exept for a slight haze of 1cm depth on the bottom where the secondary...

    Screw Cap Bottles?

I've only ever used xxxx screw top tallies and I've never had a problem(plus you don't need a bottle opener any more), What I do check for is that you can see the slight protrusion on top of the cap which should be the rim of the bottle pressing against the seal. Cheers Kingo.
