    Show us your brewrig

Howdy Today I finally got my new brew rig up and running. For the last ten years I have been brewing in the garage on a rig made up of an assortment of bits and pieces I have gathered over the journey. It worked well and I have made some great beers with the basic gravity fed 3 tier system. But...

Bintara [brewery Review] Good And Really Bad

Was there that very weekend and was amazed! Tried the wheat! The barman had to pour about 1lt of beer from the tap to get my small sample due to frothing. The taste was horrible! I'm not the biggest wheat fan to begin with so passed this as 'just another funny tasting wheat beer'! When asked...

    Tight Arse Stir Plate

Hello fellow brewers! I have read with great interest both this thread and most others that are related to all things stirplate. Firstly I would freely admit that I am in no way electronically or electrically minded and can only talk of my own expirience. About two years ago I was convinced...

    Wanted Immersion Element

Hey Kleiny Long time no see! Hotco in Cheltnam are the go. I'm on my second one and have always found them very easy to deal with. I've been using a 2400 watt jobie in conjunction with a three ring burner, and things happen pretty quickly on brew day. My first one got water into the wiring...

    Whats In The Glass

My first attempt and taste of an Aussie version of a Russian Imperial Stout. WOW! :D :D This is a big, intense, black beer! With 1kg of Chocolate and 1Kg of roasted grain in a 10Kg grainbill! A little help from some Dark DME and Demerara Sugar to get the gravity down and the Alcohol "UP"...

    37 Litre Round Eskys

I bought one of these a few months back to use as a HLT. The plastic inner of the esky is very thin, and when you remove the esky tap and install the valve, there is a heap of movement. This was a little disconcerning, but it has held up for about 10 brews. The polystyrene insulation gives off...

    Millmaster Mill

Hey Cliffo I've done about 10 brews with grain crushed by my millmaster and a massive rotary hammer drill. The gap setting equation worried me at first but I now have a pretty simple philosophy. - The finner I crush the better my efficency! - The finner I crush the easier my sparge gets stuck...

    Whats In The Glass

Thanks for the compliments! The photo was easy, but getting a Kolsch I'm happy with has proved much harder! Very hard to hide a flaw in this beer! Tonight it's an all Cascade and Amarillo APA. It's all be said before... I love this beer! :) Cheers Juddy

    Whats In The Glass

Mt Hood Kolsch My first go with Mt Hood. Lovely Light bodied beer. Perhaps a little to much bitterness, but this combined with a a dry finish make for a very easy drinking ale. Initially the Mt Hood was too evedent but has now mellowed into a pretty good beer. Not my favorite hops for this...

    Whats In The Glass

India Pale Ale. 7.5% and packed full of Fuggles and Goldings. Nice smooth malty mouth feel, with a late dose of alcohol warmth. Plenty of late hops creates a delightful and dangerously easy drinking beer. Awesome beer and one that is definately on the to brew again list. Juddy
