I have a NS APA in the fermenter now, should be bottling this weekend. 2 x 1.8 LME 250g Carawheet steeped 60 min Super Alpha to get about 35IBU 30g NS at 20min 30g NS at 5min 40g dry hopped for a week Used US-05 It smells pretty good, just waiting on a bottling day taste test.

Thanks Butters, might just use the ole PET bottles for the next brew and try a couple of grolsh's with varying carb levels.

Got my hands on some swing top grolsh bottles. Just wondering if they will take up to 3.2 vol of CO2?

Might be able to sort out a fridge to chill it. So is the recommendation to give it a gentle stir and then crash chill for a day or 2?

I dry hopped in the fermenter 7 days ago with 40g of pellets, this was after 14 days primary. They rose to the top and formed a 'cake' on top. They have been that way since. Didn't think they would take this long to drop out. Any idea how much longer? Thanks

Thanks for that. The grain comes from....uh...not sure. But all I am thinking of going in is what is listed. Two cans of LME and come crystal steeped.

Ahhh yeah I guess what I was trying to say was does it matter if you use a different bittering hop in a single hop APA? And do the flavour/aroma hop amount look alight?

How does this look as far as a single hop APA would go? I like a decent amount of hop flavour and aroma. I have read some people say that you can taste bittering hops, and others say you can't, is there any general agreement of the 'best' bittering hops to use? Here is what Beersmith gave me...
