Recipe help - winter brown/dark ale

Hi all, Not sure whether this should be posted here or in the kits/extracts forum. It has been a long time between brews and I'm interested in fellow brewers thoughts on the following dark/brown ale. Something not too bitter but full of flavour for the cold nights ahead. Recipe: 1 Coopers...

Tony, Am very keen to do an extract version, so am wondering how much malt to use? Or if you could possibly post an extract version of the recipe that would be great! cheers

    Extract Aussie Lager

Hi All, I am very soon to acquire a brewing fridge and consequently a fridgemate, so am keen to get involved in lagers. Would love some advice on this extract recipe: 1.5kg LLME (Coopers) 500g LDME 100g DWheatME 250g Carapils PoR bittered to 24 Ibus at 60 mins 10g Hallertau MF at 20 mins s-23...

    Corona Extra Kit Clone

I tasted success with Coopers Mexican Cervesa kit, 100g LDME, 600g BE1, 12g Galena (steeped 20 mins) and s-189 fermented cold. A cheaper alternative to the brewcraft recipe, tastes a treat and very close to corona. Soon im going to try it with US-05 (as i dont have a brew fridge) to see how it...

    Frozen Beer In The Keg

Hi All, After buying a kegging set up on monday i finally kegged my first batch! However after putting it in the fridge overnight, i checked it this morning and the beer is well and truly frozen! So after an inspection i purged with co2, released any residual pressure, and left the keg a warm...

    Opening My Keg

G'day I've just purchased a basic keg system - including a 19L 2nd hand postmix keg, and this is probably a fairly silly question but basically i have no idea how to open the lid of the damn thing! The instructions i got with the keg dont go into this. I've released the pressure from the keg...

    Racking Vessel Help

A quick question, if i may, re racking proceedure before kegging. I also have recently got a key set up and need to rack a beer while its waiting to get into the keg. My proceedure so far is 1. After ferment place finings in brew, leave for a day 2. Sanitise and sterilise 20L racking vessel...

Extract - What Grain Options To Buy

Hi All, Just about to make an order of grain to craftbrewer and am unsure about whether to get mixed or unmixed grains? What does this mean? Milled grain is cracked grain? (which i want) My recipe is an extract LC bright ale based on Tony's recipe (cheers!), any advice on it would be great...

    Extract Information

Hi All. I have been brewing very basic extracts for a while, generally with malt extracts rather than adding grains, which i now plan to do. My housemates and i are grabbing a keg setup very soon, so i'm going to put down a basic 'australian' ale, modelled on a coopers pale style recipe, and...

    Lcpa

I've also done boonies recipe from homebrewandbeer.com, and its a cracker. The aroma added by the dry addition of chinook is fantastic, it is definately worth it! Also, IMO this recipe needs the extra malt in order to balance the hoppiness (unless you're a hophead! :P )

    Lcpa

I did the brewcraft LCPA clone about 18 months ago now. At the time i was a very inexperienced homebrewer (about my third or fourth brew) and to me it was the best brew i had done and still very memorable. Similar to LCPA but definately different (hence why they say in the style of), i remember...
