Yeast starter

Is is dry malt extract the same as malt extra I was told that I can use malt extra for my yeast starter it doesn't seem right is it. Don't know if they packaged it wrong and it was supposed to say malt extract. Can I still use it.

Sounds like your LHBS is a bit spelling challenged. Unless that's their cute name for a malt / dex /maltodex compound.
