Whirlpool Paddle...?

Hi people!

Does anyone know if you can get these (in the link below) in Australia? I have seen them on eBay, but the shipping from the US is pretty expensive!!!



Does anyone use something similar to get a good whirlpool?

Looks a bit fast to me. Oxygenation of hot wort is reported to be a bad thing.
Doesn't look like a hard build. To pieces of perferated ss sheet (looks like the same stuff false bottoms are made of) tacked or silver soldered to a length of ss tube.

I just welded a short piece of 1/2" ss tube 90 degrees to a shaft of the same tube. Fits in a 13mm drill chuck and creates an awesome whirlpool. You can see the bottom of a 70l pot! I don't see the need for perforated sheet. Looks a bit gimmicky if you ask me.

I think they need to change there spiel though ; "Whirlpooling and aerating is good practice before you pump the wort out of your brewing system. It infuses oxygen which promotes enhanced yeast activity and places the hops and protein back into suspension before the filtering process. "
