Whirlfloc tablets

Does anybody use those whirlfloc tablets and are they any good? I'm contemplating using some on a kit beer. When would i add the tablet to a kit beer?

They're great but there's no real reason to add them to a kit beer.

They are used to coagulate proteins after a boil in a full mash wort so that they drop to the bottom of the boil pot and can be left behhind when the hot wort is transferred. The process of manufacturing the kit should have done this already.
