Hi,

I mentioned in a thread on the Beginner AG forum that I'm going to try making a clone of Bright Brewery's Hellfire Ale. It's an English-style amber ale. I'm not sure which yeast to use and I think that my yeast question got lost in the discussion about the recipe so I thought I'd re-pose the question here.

I have a recipe that comes from Bright Brewery (found on another brewing website) however it didn't say what yeast to use. I contacted Bright Brewery regarding the recipe and they responded to my questions (very helpful, I shall be buying some of they're product later today :D ) however I didn't realise that the yeast was not listed. So I contacted them again regarding the yeast however I haven't heard anything (they're probably sick of my questions, and fair enough too!).

Just wondering what people would suggest as a suitable yeast for a Hellfire Ale clone?

I was thinking of something like WLP005 but I'm happy to try something else.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Chris

Maybe WLP005 or W1968 would be good.
I tasted the beer a while back, and it was great, but memory fades now.
How dry is the beer? Maybe W1272 (American Ale II) would do the job too.
