Even if the March pump isn't 'the one', it will easily hold its resale value IMHO, so it's a sound investment. Look after it and sell it on if you spy a better deal for your needs.
You can use it anywhere in the brewery, so you might end up using it for something else in any case.
You know it's guaranteed, and it's guaranteed to be able to handle hot wort in a safe way (strontium/barium? in the other link?!!), good luck making warranty claims on eBay pumps from China.

Yeah hard to go wrong with a March, but will be keen to hear if it does the whirlpool and if so to how much volume. I've got an 809 and haven't used it for whirlpooling but will down the track if it does a good job. I'd be surprised if it won't do a pretty decent one, they've got plenty of grunt...
