I dunno if its my luck but i have rang 2 LHBS and asked them if they sell grain. both said "we dont, but we can get it in for you if you want". which is not really what i want.

Does anyone on the forum (from the better part of brisbane  ) know who stocks grain?

Cheers

Logan, northside you'll find Craftbrewer. Click on the thing top of page.

yea on the bris southside you only have the best HBS in the region! as already stated, sponsor link above, craftbrewer.

+1 Craftbrewer!
No affiliation, yadda yadda, but they really are the best.
The best range of ingredients and equipment and really friendly, (almost unusually)* helpful staff.

*Ross has even put an after hours number on the website for brewing related help/questions etc.

I'm totally stoked because last year, about a week after I found out they existed, I found out that they had just moved premises to a shop about 1km from my house!!

HABAHAGD! :icon_cheers:
Jono.

Best place for Northside guys? I have 2 x Brewer's Choices within 5 mins - but their grain range seems limited (although I have only looked online and am very new to AG).

Diggs, you must live close to me as I have two brewers choices stores near me, but like u said their grain and hops are limited or out of stock. I just plan ahead, pay the $8 gateway toll and go to CraftBrewer and stock up.

Thanks Nat.

I'm over at Stafford so have the Kedron and Enogerra stores close - guess I'll have to do the same thing (or look at postage as an option as the time for the 1 hour trip is hard to find on the weekend).

Kedron's grain prices for some local varieties are good enough to save the trip to CB, if you order in small amounts. Add in the hop prices or order more grain (or you prefer certain varieties that are way cheaper at craftbrewer), though and yeah, pay the gateway toll. Same goes with yeast. And it's just a fun place to go.

From Wavell Heights, it was a 15-20 minute tops drive, and sometimes plowing through Rode Road/Gympie Road alone takes longer.

I can take the tunnel now, but need to add another $5.00 for the return trip - might just take the bike for a spin the long way and not pay any tolls.

I live out near ipswich and always make the trip to craft brewer for my suplies, they are second to none.

Craftbrewer is the obvious choice, go postage if you live further away. If your just after base malt, try quality home brew at slacks creek. For me personally, I find they are more concentrated on on the spirits side of things but if you speak to Danny, he seems much more interested in helping you, rather than boasting about what he's brewing.

I realized on the way there this morning that with all the tolls and petrol it might be about the same to just have it delivered to work! Although it was great to get out there and have a look.
