Where Can I Find Lactose?

Looking for some lactose, but i dunno where to go. My LHBS is closed till monday, i thought they closed later.
Is lactose the same as milk sugar? where can i get some?

HBS is the only place I get mine. I know cellar plus stock it and they'd be open till 5 pm today but the only one I know if is in North melbourne. Otherwise grain grape in Yarraville - neither are really close to you.

If you do venture out, ring first and check they have in stock and what time they close - would hate to give you a bum steer.

How much do you need?

A lot of people diss them, a lot of which is fair, but Brewcraft/Liquorcraft stock it. The Heidelburg store is only open for another 15 minutes though the Richmond store is open Sundays until 4 I think if your really desperate.

Its not a big deal. Ill just wait it out, brewcraft are a fair rip-off, i'd rather take my business to a good LHBS haha.

While I'd tend to add it at the last bit of the boil, you could still brew, boil up the lactose when you get it and add it in.

Good idea manticle, but its just to be added to liters of apple and apple/pear juice haha.

EDIT: On second thoughts, reckon i could/should brew it up now and then add it when i get it on Tuesday?
cider takes a while to ferment anyway right?
