I have always Mashed on a Sunday Morning but found that a five o'clock start on a Saturday arvo will get me done by about 10'oclock ready to go clubbing.
No set option for me there Pumpy old son - Any weekday fine by me (you gotta love working from home )... prefer to leave the weekends free for more important things in life, like playing pool & drinking :chug:
Nothing quite like a free day on the weekend where you can mash in before lunch, then set up a second mash while the first is boiling. Chance to take in a few ales while making a few more. That'll all change once kids' soccer, golf, gym, etc start
any weekend morning the little lady ducks out for a few hours..!
swmbo see's it in my eyes too... and the barley crusher starts to shake in the corner... AND then its on.. 3-4 hours and i'm scrubbing the kettle and pouring a beer.
I much prefer the pre planned brews, where i cruise through it for a whole afternoon and drink joyfully as the old lady in the 3rd level unit bangs on the window at the noises and smell of hops dropping into their 100*C afternoon bath...
Sat morning usually start around 11.00 after we've been for a swim. Im thinkng of starting sooner as Im usually blind by 4.00pm. If I start sooner id be less inclined to crack a beer at 8-9 in the morning. Personally I couldnt think of anything worse that doing a night brew.
Cheers
Steve
Normally Saturday for me when SWMBO is at work. Can usually get two double batches done, all cleaned up and dinner on by the time she gets home. Doing a couple of double batches means I'll only brew now around once per month.
Well it appears it is split 50/50 pretty much, with those who have not got a life and stay in on Saturday and those who dont go to church on the Sunday like Warren and people in Qld that brew mainly on a Monday .
and Ross who has so much free time he can brew when ever.
