Nice one Peakydh, home made is it?

Yeah, home made job. I found some stainless mesh at work, folded it over and spot welded the edges together, leaving a gap on one corner for the copper tube. Works pretty well, keeps most of the trub out of the runnings and increased my brewhouse efficiency by decreasing losses to trub. I no longer whirlpool, just let it settle whilst chilling and then run straight into the fermenter.

I've got some POR flowers to use up for my Bulimba Gold Top lookalike. I'll just gently boil them in 6L of wort a stockpot on my electric ring next to the urn for 60 mins and pour them into the urn through my mesh kitchen strainer just before I add the Brewbrite. (and top up with boiling water to the mark of course)

The minimash bags from craftbrewer make great hop socks for whole flowers (I too have had blocked tap syndrome from flowers). Plenty of room to pack them in loosely, a loose-ish knot and in they go.

Maybe not great if you are hop bursting or have more than 2-3 additions.

Yes - I also use one of those only about 8 clams each - you can peg it round the outside of the urn and chuck in a few SS objects to weigh it down so it doesn't billow up, and the little hoppies can go for a swim for an hour. I'll have the hob on anyway so I'll try the alternative method this time
