After I mashed in, I realised I had left the hop strainer out of the boiler.. that's it sitting on the bench.

SO, after the boil, I whirlpooled like crazy.. but there's still a LOT of hop matter in the fermenter..

Ooh yes I see it now. I knocked it off the other day scraping the element. I just filtered out the hops in a hop bag applied to the end of the chiller hose during transfer to the fermenter. Don't worry a bit of hops in the fermenter never hurt anyone.

Don't forget to clean out your spring assembly. It will be full of hops

Yeah, I probably could have.. ah well, too late now.

Looks like it, doesn't it. But the temp probe is sitting down the bottom of the GF boiler, where the wort is at its coolest - measured temp in HLT was 77.
