Brewie (brewie.org). Fully automated all grain system and self cleaning. Only issue not released yet!

I both chill and no chill these days mostly chill though. I use a counter flow chiller and would say on balance chilling is more time efficient for me. Chilling probably takes a little longer not much though and I’m free to do other things while the fermenter is filling.

The counterflow is easy to clean and sanitise I just recirculate boiling wort through it during the last 15 minutes of the boil.
If I no chill I need to clean and sanitise three cubes first and that takes more time and effort than cleaning the chiller.

My total brewing time is 6- 7 hours every 2-3 weeks as I cask the previous batch while I’m brewing the next. I mill my grain while the mash liquor is heating then clean the casks (with caustic) and sanitise during the mash. During the boil I empty the fermenter in to the casks , scoop some yeast from the bottom then clean and sanitise the fermenter.

After the boil I whirlpool and while that is settling I empty the mashtun into the bin hose it out then fill it with hot water from the chiller as I chill the wort.
When the fermenter is full I aerate the wort (aeration Kit). While it is aerating I hose out the kettle, throw some sodium percarbonate into the hot water in the mash tun and let it gravity drain slowly through the pump and chiller into the kettle.

Then pitch the yeast from the jar rinse the aeration kit and chuck it in a pot of caustic. Hose out the mash tun and run cold water through the pump and chiller and everything is done.

Well not quite, I empty the kettle and hose it out another day when I remember it.

I find 3v far more time efficient than BIAB. Having said that I haven’t BIABed for years, not since before it was invented apparently so my memory is a little hazy but I’m sure it used to take me longer to clean the bag than it does to clean my mash tun.

Was that the brew in the bag method invented before Jesus Christ. :D

I don't brew in a bag, I BIABBS (brew in a bloody big sheet) :D

Take full sheet out to garden, remove the "throttle", dump grain. Shake shake flick flick. Rinse down in sink and hang up on line.

PS Jesus would just touch the vat of water.

OT, but just like the selfie stick, BIAB (or styles of) was around before it was 'invented'.

Jesus Christ was a BIAB brewer for sure. A sheeps gut with some holy holes in it and a clay pot over a fire. He turned water into beer, not wine.

Yeah it was dead, but after 3 days on a stir plate it came back to life

It does say time efficient in the title right? I give my BIAB bag an rinse and then shove it in the washing machine with some napisan. I also spin dry my water filter cartridges on the spin cycle. Now that's time efficient for you!

That’s the one, It wasn’t the same as proper BIAB though where you don’t sparge and can wash your jeans in it.

Time efficiency  . My All Grain brew day ranges about 8 to 12 hours?
How bout time management?
I get stacks of other stuff done all that time too. Sometimes the mash sit for 3 hours if I leave the house.
Domestic chores etc.

Another vote for the BM.

The automation during the mash cycle means that you can spend 90% of that time doing other things.

Edit:

Having just watched the video I may have changed my mind. This Brewie looks ridiculously simple and makes the BM seem very hands on.

And best of all it's self cleaning.................

Actually I was going to say, the answer is probably:

Braumeister
No chill if you're not fussed when you pitch and can sacrifice some flexibility in hopping
Chill if you want to pitch sane day and have full flexibility in hopping, but spend some setup time before the end of the boil, and then pop it in the BM during the clean cycle?

Those brew machines look excellent.
I can only think. What is the length of warranty on the electronics? What if the electronics stuff up?
Would it outlast the old Pot on a burner? Managed by the brewer?

Or more to the point "What will they cost?"

Rumour has is that a chap by the name of Bandito has developed a fully automated brewery that requires only grain and hops and yeast are filled, and the entire brewing process takes care of itself.
