My Twisted Gut APA.
It's in the database.

It's a variation on TL's original SNPA recipe.

I'm currently drinking another identical batch. It seems to take 2 to 3 months to all come together, but then the very typical Cascade character comes through in the aroma, and the beer is clear and balanced, and tastes delicious.

I wasn't going to brew today, but as soon as I read this I knew it had to be done.

Mashed in about 30 mins ago, and all the hops are weighed out!

I brew a Munich Dunkle which kiks ***.Constant winner.Got one in secondary right now. :icon_cheers:

And will you divulge your recipe???? :)

I haven't yet found a commercial Munich Dunkel which I can say has satisfied my palate, I find even the Weihenstephaner a bit bland...

Check this out. It was one of the first partials I ever did. I had no idea what I was doing. Look at how much Carapils I used. I think I mashed at about 70 deg C. This beer was so good, even the VB and New drinkers in my street loved it. So much so many years after they still ask if I have recreated that Bock again, and saddly I say I can't. I have tried so many times but nothing ever came close to this one. It was thick and creamy with a big thick head and a big malt back bone. It was very nice.

who is TL? and is the recipe for his SNPA clone in the database?

Cheers
Phil

Incant the name and thus I appear!! :p

My fave is the SNPA but my best brewed beer was an Oktoberfest. I've never made the same batch again despite keeping good records. The moons aligned, the ingredients were fresh and it all just came together beautifully IMHO...

Cheers,
TL

I'd say it'd be my Soul Beer in the database, the first batch of that is just being finished up now about 10 months from being bottled. Great tasting robust portery, stout...thingy.

Other than that a good, simple lager with Tettnang late hopping always rings my bell.\

Cheers - boingk

Really tough call for my best beer.

As far as session beers go, it'd have to be my Alpha Male Pale Ale, amber ale brewed with Nelson Sauvin and NZ Cascade flowers.
As far as 'best' beers go it'd probably be somewhere between one of my Barley wines, the Behemoth Belgian strong ale which I recently won a few awards in a homebrew comp for...or its big brother the Belgian Chocolate Ale '08, which hasn't fully carbed up yet but the flavour is amazing, something similiar to Kasteelbier Brune.

My choice changes daily though.

1st Cherry Wit
2nd Saison Stout
3rd Red Malty Belgian Bliss Piss
4th Wild beer [drinking one now] can't explain it, no two glasses are the same, weird, odd, good, leather and clove, can't stop drinking it.
5th Any beer on tap last year.
