OK, I'll start it. Finish in the following phrase:

'2006, the year of':

- Belgians
- Nailing a great Pilsner
- Improving my chilling process
- Entering more comps

So what is it?

'2006, the year of...'

My plans for the next year...

1. Move to true extract brewing (no more pre-hopped malt).
2. Get all of the basics right. Try to get that extract brew without the home brew taste.
3. Give a partial mash a go.
4. Brew something suitable for competition.
5. Learn what I can about all grain.
6. Drink the lot.

Merry christmas all.

Jason.

2006

1. Perfect a Gose (1st attempt is way to salty).
2. Refine the HefeRyeizen
3. Upgrade the mash tun
4. Find an upgrade for the HLT
5. Make a dent in the 13kg of hops sitting in the freezer

Beers,
Doc

A year of perfecting process for me. I have jumped head first into all grain brewing and made some decent beer. However, I know I'm not doing everything as well as I could be. I really want to get everything so it is very consistent and I can really predict the results I am going to get. Other than that I want to:

1 Design and make a good stout
2 Brew a lot more alt
3 Build a brew stand

Oh and help Wee Stu make ANAWBS even better.

All Grain, All Grain, All Grain. Thats '06 for me!!!
Cant wait!

1. Start AG brewing.
2. Enter my first comp.
3. Get a new job to get my brewing weekends back.

get a cf chiller, a mill and a thermostat for the brew fridge.
and make more weird fruit beers :)
perfect the lemongrass lager this winter (if i don't get the thermostat)

- Batz's Smoked Porter
- Brew some nice Belgians, experimenting with stepped mashes and yeast combinations
- Do more lagers
- go all grain

Cheers - Snow

an oat stout
more lagers
as vienna lager instead of a fiest beer
may try a wit
a dunkel or porter or may even make an alt
get a house brew apa going
finish of me brew stand and get me idra pump going to the cfc

get a grain mill and start buying my grain in bulk

upgrade HLT and possibly get a march pump in the set up.

attempt some real ale.

refine some of my fave brews.

increase output to 60lt batches.

Keeping beer up to my 10 taps is the first priority...
Paying my electricity bill...
Building a cold room
Modify my grain mill & start using it.
Switching to glass fermenters
Brewing at least 1 new style a month...

++++

Beer tour of Europe...

Cheers Ross

I have enjoyed my return to brewing @ home. 3 test brews (pale type ales) have been through the new set-up so 2006 looks promising. I have very simple goals for this year

* Pilsner on tap at all times
* Choc Porter on tap at all times
* Find my golf clubs!

Cheers
Gerard

1. Brew a better dunkel.
2. Get some better scores at comps with my bitters.
3. Brew more lagers.
4. Try the powells malt ( sorry darren :p )
5. Brew a better porter.
6. Brew more low gravity bitters, they go down soooooo well!!.
7. Brew a wit.
8. Brew another IPA, yum yum!

Mine's the same as last year:

1: AG.

One year, one year... at least I got keg action happening in 05 :)

I have a few simple plans this year.

- Get a grain mill
- Sort out a new HLT
- Get into brewing a Biere de Garde and Saison

{edit: spulling}

..and finding a new hairdresser ;)

brewstand is the no. 1 priority for 2006. sick of dragging gear out of a tiny tool shed, and assembling it on rickety resin furniture. I think I had this in my 2005 list but pump, filter, thermo, polysulfone valves, ally pot 60l HLT, ventmatics with ss handles, more kegs, etc etc got in the way. Well and truly busted the budget in 2005.

Also need a drip tray to replace the bucket over the taps arrangement.

after 18 months on a keg system remembering how to bottle properly without overcarbing it for the xmas case would be a nice thing to do!

brew wise:
- perfect pils
- oatmeal stout
- alt, alt, alt

- Keep refining my brewday
- Keep on searching for that perfect Czech Pilsner...

Shawn.

1. Upgrade HLT
2. Get a SS fermentor (keep saving)
3. Brew a decent pilsner/lager

2005 was the year of rebuilding the rig, taking proper measurements, hitting targets and perfecting my ale brewing technique to the point where I am really happy with the last three beers I made after about 20 ags.
