At the Hordern show (Sydney) the lasers bounced off small reflectors in the walls and projected complex moving geometric patterns across the ceiling.

Yep, was pretty good. How long do you reckon it took for the crowd to realise that the band had gone off stage at half time and just left one of their CD's playing? I know it took me about 10 mins  .

Beck- Odelay tour probably the best concert Ive seen
Pearl Jam seen them 3 times all good
Oasis- Livid cant remember the year
Ween- Livid different year suprised they could actually play live

AC/DC - Sydney entertainment centre 2001, 2nd row from the front. I remember seeing the security guys jamming ear plugs in beforehand, I soon found out why because I couldn't hear properly for days afterwards. Sensational concert though, every song a classic.

Hoodoo Gurus - Caringbah Inn 1983, the place was packed, you couldn't even move. I came out smelling like I'd jumped in a giant fermentor.

Midnight Oil (playing under an alias) - Caringbah Inn 1982, wild night, very sketchy on details. There were rumours of them playing and the place went off when Garrett's bald noggin turned up on the stage.

Midnight Oil 1985
U2 Rattle and Hum Tour
Jane's Addiction 1990
Michael Franti outdoors in Perth 2002
Ben Harper late 90's
Worked at a couple of Jeff Buckley Gigs, American Road crew were pigs but his performances were phenominal. RIP :(
Blue King Brown a couple of years ago.

ah Jeff Buckley you lucky thing.

Faith No More - awesome and the single most BRUTAL pit I have ever been in.
Tool - 1995 was a life changing experience. I didn't know music like that even existed. 1997 on the other hand turned me off them completely.
Eels - Daisies of the Galaxy tour
The Drones - I'd go so far as to say they are the best live band on the planet (new record sucks a horrible donkey dick, though)
Curse Ov Dialect - supporting Regurgitator a long ******* time ago, they frightened me a little bit
Hot Snakes - so good I nearly cried. No shit.
Bob Log III - Greatest showman on the planet
mclusky - not as good as I on record but still some awesome sets

I'm sure I'm missing a million things worthy of being in here.

Pink Floyd @ Bris Ent Ctr 1988, Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour, feckin unbelievable..

Jimmy Barnes @ The Forum in Kentish Town & @ Rock City in Nottingham (Vince Lovegrove let us upstairs after i had a yarn to him and Jimmy in the pub across the road before the gig) also @ Workers Club in Tamworth about a million years ago

Metallica when they headlined @ Donnington Rock Festival, also remember Slash's Snakepit from that day but that's about it.... :icon_drool2:

Eagles at Wembley, thought it might have been a bit rank but it went off, can't remember the guy that supported but awesome guitar B)

cheers

Heaven and hell/black sabbath at thebby , Dio was unreal that nite best frontman stage presence almost ever.
Iron Maiden somewhere back in time at acer arena also is right up there.

Some people listed fearfactory, their shows for me have been a bit less then memorable, great sound etc but nothing special as far as show, same as lamb of god. Great bands and all but the live shows have lacked what the likes of megadeth, machine head, messugah etc bring to the stage. :super:

Brighter Death Now/Bocksholm/Isomer and more (Cold Meat Industry in Australia 2006)
Nathan Hollywood
Nick Cave and the Bad seeds
Gentle Ben and His sensitive Side
Oliver Mann
Jane's addiction (not really a fan but great show)
Sonic Youth
Primus
Laura
All tomorrow's parties 2009 (particularly nick Cave, Michael Gira, hunter Dienna and Psarandonis)

um.............lots. I have more good gig memories than bad ones.

ACDC's Back in Black tour at the Sydney Cricket ( or was it sports) Ground in 1981 or so.
Devo at the Horden Pavillion or some such 1982ish
Pink Floyd Sydney Entertainment Center 1994ish
THe Police's first tour somewhere in Sydney.
Rodger Waters at the Brisbane Entertainment Center 2007
And this free concert around 1980 in the park near Central Station at Ultimo, heaps of Aussie bands there, great day.

cheers

Devo at the Horden Pavillion or some such 1982ish

First one in this thread I've been jealous of.

Having said that, you couldn't pay me enough to go to your others. Weird huh?

The Cure (about 1995 in the old Wellington Town Hall). They played for two hours, and it just went off.
Tool (about 2005 at the Sydney Ent Centre). The bass was up to 11, I could feel my ribs moving, and it was just sooo therapeutic. Awesome.
Metallica (St. Anger tour 2007 ?? at the Syd Ent Centre). They just nailed it all night.

Doc

Fear Factory on their first Australian tour for their first album in the mid-90's in a nightclub in Lismore, NSW with a crowd of about 30 people.

Small world - I was there too. The thing I remember was that the owners decided to put the stupid disco music on even before the clapping had finished for the last song.

Most memorable gig for me would be one with Henry Rollins at the Paddington Town Hall in the early 90s(?)
Someone threw an empty can at the stage, it hit the guitarist and made him mess up.

Henry stopped the music and said something like "Don't hit the musicians with the cans. If you want to get your anger out, throw them at me." For the next few minutes, it was raining cans on the stage. Hank stood there, in his usual pose of no fear. They funny thing is not one can hit him.

Rolling Stones Hyde Park London 1969, 15 years old my first real gig

Weird indeed, Devo were great, throughout the concert they were all on treadmills that were running at a pretty good pace, so they must have been pretty fit. Early devo albums are tops.

cheers

Dire Straits - mid 1980's in Cairns. First concert I saw and was fantastic.
Skid Row - 1995
Sepultura/Ozzy Ozbourne double in 1996 with Zac on guitar :super:
White Zombie/Pantera double - 1996
The Ramones - 1996
ACDC at the start (US) and end (Cairns) of their Ballbreaker tour
Pearl Jam - Brisbane
Henry Rollins - Brisbane
The Rolling Stones - Brisbane
Metallica - Brisbane :beerbang:

Last concert I was dragged to was Robbie Williams by the wife.....I need to be cleansed :D Did I read Megadeth and Slayer are touring?

Violent Femmes - The Piggery Byron Bay 1990, my first real gig. They were supported by Ratcat which severly lowers the cool factor I think...

Pulp - Leeds Festival 2000 70,000 odd people and Mr Cocker made it feel like they were playing in your local pub

U2 - ANZ Stadium 1993

Living Colour - Festival Hall 1993

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones - musicianship on another level. My wife enjoyed it and she hates banjo...Victor Wooten doing Amazing Grace all funked up and using harmonics on the bass. Look it up on google...

The Pogues, and others including the Proclaimers, Flaugh (sp?) Festival London 2002. Complete with Mr Magowan back. Couldn't understand a word of the patter between songs but that didn't matter once they started singing...

The Fratellis - UQ this year. Just because I like their songs so much at the moment...

Plenty of others that were very good. Faithless, Pearl Jam, Custard, Powderfinger, Regurgitator in a pub in London about the size of your local Scout hall, if that.

Pearl Jam - Newcastle last tour. Small venue, no bad seats, excellent setlist. Seen them maybe half a dozen times and it comes a very close second to my first PJ concert which I think was around '98 (YIELD?) - floor tix back when PJ floor tix weren't seated.

Xavier Rudd always a good show.

Lollapalooza 92, 93 and 94. Can't remember who played at which one, but fav's were Alice in Chains, Rage, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, Jane's addiction/Porno for pyros, Tool, Green day, Beasties, Nick Cave and the bad seeds, and RHCP. The second stages were awesome as well, but really fuzzy about the bands...
