Rolling Stones Hyde Park London 1969, 15 years old my first real gig

Wow that about takes the cake for me, was that the brian Jones tribute thing with the boxes of butterflies etc?

Duff Megadeth and slayer are touring together, tickets went on sale monday.

Lollapalooza 92, 93 and 94. Can't remember who played at which one, but fav's were Alice in Chains, Rage, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, Jane's addiction/Porno for pyros, Tool, Green day, Beasties, Nick Cave and the bad seeds, and RHCP. The second stages were awesome as well, but really fuzzy about the bands...

 Holy shit!!

Last concert I was dragged to was Robbie Williams by the wife.....I need to be cleansed :D

You too, hey Duff?
At least he asked for the girls to get their tops off!
The big screen cameramen were having a field day! :icon_chickcheers:

My first BDO, I think it was 94? With Smashing Pumpkins... awesome. Back in the old showgrounds at Moore Park.
Meeting up with friends during the day, one dude was complaining how he got dropped while crowdsurfing and someone stepped on his face. Classy!

Small world - I was there too. The thing I remember was that the owners decided to put the stupid disco music on even before the clapping had finished for the last song.

 wow!! It IS a small world

Violent Femmes - The Piggery Byron Bay 1990, my first real gig. They were supported by Ratcat

I was there too

Pearl Jam - Newcastle last tour. Small venue, no bad seats, excellent setlist. Seen them maybe half a dozen times and it comes a very close second to my first PJ concert which I think was around '98 (YIELD?) - floor tix back when PJ floor tix weren't seated.

for the Aust/Nz tour, PJ has gone back to General Admission! Cant wait!

PS. Yield is my fav pearl jam album!

A few people mentioning Henry Rollins has reminded me that maybe that tour he did with his band playing only Black Flag songs might deserve to be on the list. Honourable mention at the very least.

Any Happy Hate Me Nots gig!
Any Hard Ons gig!
Any Mark of Cain gig!
Any Exploding White Mice gig! Those blokes new how to rock out!

Buffalo Tom and Superchunk @ Liberty, Adelaide in 1995 or 96.
Sebadoh and Blue Bottle Kiss @ St Kilda, 1999 (i think)
Split Enz @ Thebby in 1978, my first gig!
Dinosaur Jr @ The Gov, 2007
Painters and Dockers @ The Tivoli 1991 I reckon, great jumping from the balcony  !
Ramones, Mudhoney and Pavement (all seperate gigs)@ The Old Lion Hotel sometime in the 90's
Summersault 1996 (Pavement, Foo Fighters, Bikini Kill and Jawbreaker stood out)

There are heaps more but that will do for now.

Jez, I am envious you got to see GBV live.

Best for me thus far:

A Perfect Circle at the Entertainment Centre in Adelaide back about 7 or so years ago...

Never got around to seeing Tool though...

Saw them twice, first time for Aenima then for Lateralus, AWESOME there is no other word!

Cheers SJ
Oh yeah, Equinox, plus Lateralis tour @ ent. centre. Purely awesome band live.
"Aquaintances" went to see em last time the were out.... They walked out.
Lame, utterly lame. There's no excuse for walking out.

Jethro Tull in Sydney in the 90s sometime
Plant and Page around the same time

Foo Fighters a couple of years back at Sydney Opera house.

The Zep boys with the ASO and then a few weeks later at the Gov.

ACDC in Sydney in the early 90s and I couldn't hear properly for days

U2 on the rattle and hum tour at memorial drive in the late 80s, supported by BBKing. When my old man dropped me off, he mentioned something about just wanting to see BBKing and I said who? Young and dumb!

I have seen some pretty good bands in the Sandbar in Mildura, something great about a live band in a pub, doesn't have to be a famous band.

I have gone with my old man to see Deep Purple and John Fogerty, but I didn't really enjoy them. Jon Lord was pretty good.

Dammit!! I got tix today but just went for seated - not GA. The "floor" is alcohol free so that surprise threw me a bit and I panicked and took seat tix. I sorta wish I had gone GA and just went a couple of hours without the plastic cups of warm dishwater they sell but too late now.

BTW anyone direct me to a decent spoy for a beer beforehand that is sort close to SFS? I dont really know sydney but I am told we are camping at Kensington.
