This weekend a weizenberry for the misses, who has discovered she likes raspberry lambics and hoegaarden, so i figured i'd experiment

2.5kg Pils
2.5kg Wheat

15IBU Hallertau pacific @ 60

WY3068 - Weihenstephan Weizen

Not sure how much in the way of raspberries, will use frozen ones, maybe 500g or a kg?

supermarket of farm fresh ones?
if the super market ones. id use about 1.5kg minimum
if farm fresh then maybe 750g

When do you add the berries? Like dry hopping? Or cold conditioning?

id go secondary for at least 2 weeks.

commercial brewers in the US use berry puree, as a preferred source.

Maybe you can source some?

I plan 2 make cherry ale or 2, with 2.5kg in each.

Thanks guys, I'll see if I can track down some pure, and if not I'm gonna use frozen supermarket ones in secondary I reckon, 1 week prim, 1week secondary with berries, bottle and enjoy :)

Went with 1kg of frozen berries, pasteurised with boiling water then mashed with a spud masher and dumped in with the resulting boiled water mixture (cooled of course :) ). Took a sample about an hour later and its pretty pink with a beautiful raspberry nose, and the raspberry flavour has mixed nicely with the flavour of the beer! I reckon ill probably give the yeast 5 days or so to eat any sugars from the berries and bottle on Monday
