G'day Guys.

As per my title I get a head thats probably the same volume as the beer if not much more on some occassions and this is pouring beer @ and an angle and very slowly.

Then it dies within five minutes though u can still see slight bubble movement in the glass.

My body is usually ultrabrew - 50% light malt, 25% dex, 25% maltodextorse

I use a priming scoop and prime with Castor sugar.

I usually drink the beer from about 3 weeks in the bottle.

Cheers.

Can you give more info on the beer Drew, like what kit, etc?

(If memory serves correctly you are a kit fiddler like me...if not I apologise).

PZ.

I tend to have a similar problem..... Head dies away really quickly. Doesnt seem to matter which kit I use (the one notable exception was a muntons traditional bitter in which I used 500g of maltodex). I have tried headstart fluid in the bottle, maltodex, and I have ensured that everything is totally free of detergent.

I dont make Boozy style sugar monsters, so I dont think over alc vol is a problem.

Maybe when I get over the lethargy and start partials, things may improve???

3 weeks in bottle? Leave it for 3 months. See if you get head then.

I believe all you do is stop adding **** like malto-dexo whatever and add 1-2 even 3 kg liquid or dry malt extract. That should take care of the head bullshite and from there it's just a matter of improving it with flavouring grains and hops, etc. incl sec ferm bulk prime dry hop etc.

Try to keep in mind the only real natural ingredients of beer are malt, hops, water & yeast.

Don't take the homebrewing industry in general too seriously. You could be the world's best brewer and who'd know? At least you're the only person who gets to drink the world's best beer.
