Thinking of heading here for lunch today. Any of you AHB types going to be there and want to join me in a malt sandwich?

Silence! foul temptress. :p

Not today mate, I am considering going there tomorrow for abeer/Italian Roll thingy and preping for the QABC dinner

Ok, very impressed with this place. Just got back and feeling the buzz...

Great (reasonably priced) food. Great tap list, awesome fridge stock. Definitely going to be a regular.

I wish it were closer to me, although that may not necessarily be a good thing. Next time I hit the big smoke I'm going in for a couple, and one of those hot dogs!

Are you serious and what time winkle? In time to get on the bus I presume! :D

PS. Sorry Snow, I had missed today's effort until now.

My new work local - took my work mates and they were quite surprised . Ate like kings and managed to Get another one of Ross smoked beers. Was a bit bummed nobgobblin and that cavalier pale ale were not on tap.
Not to fear next week it is

You guys went there and never got a nobgobblin?

Bus is now at La Scratch (what could possibly go wrong?) :)

TT is one of those places that gets into your head, my mother says "where will we take your father for his 80th birthday"... "well mum, theres this place near the valley..."

Planning to meet a mate here on Saturday to check it out if anyone is up for a catchup and/or hasn't checked this place out yet...

What time are you thinking, Ben? We're travelling to the north side in the late arvo/early evening and might be able to make a pitstop on the way through...

Cheers,
tallie

Well I'm flexible on the timing. I'd said around 4 but I'll have no kids that weekend so time isn't of the essence...

Ross I mean the reviewer may have embelished the credentials of the brewers identified & has a lot to answer for in terms of his B grade ****star moustache..

BEER - craft, and expensive. They do have a limited selection of wine, though no spirits. Ten taps on the wall, one hand-pump. Looks like they've already built a relationship with Ross from Bacchus, so the best of the Brisbane brewers looks to be consistently represented. Usual suspects on tap otherwise (Holgate, Two Birds) with a couple surprises (Toy Box - a Pliny the Elder clone, if that means anything to you - and Mikkeller).

Cheers

Paul

Don't quite think this is Ross, if you look at the reviewer's profile you'll see a bunch of food reviews from Illinois in 2010 and if you've been to Tippler's Tap you may have also noticed an American guy sitting close to the bar. Let's just say that it's not uncommon for business owners to champion their own via the internet.

I like the venue and think it's great for Brisbane, especially when you think back twelve months ago how much Brisbane was screaming out for venues. Since then we've had places like Bitter Suite, The Scratch, and now Tippler's Tap. It doesn't have the walk-by-trade that other pubs in New Farm/Valley/West End does, so it'll be interesting to see how it goes in the long run. I love the hand pump and Bacchus' Smoky Mounty (can't remember exactly what it's called) was the highlight. It's a thick ale that you need a fair amount of time to get through.

Sounds like it will be doable - just waiting to find out what time we need to be at our final destination. Will be in touch.

Looks like we'd have to leave by 4:45, so will aim to get in around 3:30.

I quite like it, sit outside and it's very pleasant, not so out the back and be careful you don't get run over going for a pee.
Tuckers good as well, time I dropped by for another beer..
