I was looking at something in John Palmer's book last night & noticed that @ p.105 he states that the minimum useful time a beer should spend in secondary is 2 weeks.

I would usually only leave a beer in secondary for 1 week & thought I was very much in synch. with other brewers.

What are other people's thoughts/practices on this?

My thoughts would be,
any time in secondary would be benificial, in terms of clearing out your beer and allowing the final stages of fermentation to take place... while not sitting on the trub. But i'm far from being John Palmer..?!?! :D

At a wild guess, it MIGHT mean:

2 weeks in seconday = the time for secondary and cold conditioning together

** VERY MUCH A GUESS **

I like to:
- 1 week secondary
- 3 weeks CC
