Hey all,

I needed a quick brew (I usually prefer lagers) and bought a tin of Thomas Coopers brewmaster IPA.

I have about 500g of Pale DME
800g Dex
and a heap of hop tea bags but only Hallertau and Saaz

Would any one suggest using these hops and if so what method?

Quickie recipe Please!

Prost!

All of them sounds good - the IPA kit, 800g dextrose, 500g DME, a teabag each of Hall and Saaz, chuck in a teabag of both to dryhop it :chug:

Sounds the goods, Couldn't be quicker'n'easier than that.

Yeh you really want to hop the hell out of this.
IPA's should have a very pronounced hop and malt character.

This is one of my favorite kits, I have one brewing now. The kit is already very hoppy and bitter. The first time I brewed it I tried it a couple of weeks after bottling and wasn't too impressed, it was so hoppy and bitter. A month later it was sensational.

I usually use
1000grms LDME
700grms Dex
Fuggles Finishing Hops
safale yeast
and brew at 18 degrees.

You reckon dry hop one of each of the Tall and Saaz?
By the way. Forgot to add Safale S-04 yeast.

I reckon it needs more malt to be a decent IPA.

I'd put in all that you have plus an can of liquid light malt.

I've never had IPA with halletua and Saaz, it's normally Fuggles which is very nice.
I'd keep the Saaz for a pilsener and get some Fuggles, the more the better.
