Nice work elpiratilla! :beerbang:

Lael you have put in windowSize parameters, Kp, Ki and Kd?
I can say for a 50-liter pot parameters kp, ki, kd wear?
And also in windowSize to get value?
Anyone know what he's asking here? How to adjust for a larger pot maybe?

Sorry for my English but I use translator.
The manual is set for a 23L pot and I want to use a 50L pot.
Thank you.

Hi elpiratella, I haven't actually changed the settings on mine at all. I think in the manual for the controller that matho put out he commented on the settings, but they have worked fine for me. I have a similar size pot to yours.

Thank you very much, are you really helping me.

By the way if you still have a few want to make a purchase kit together several members of my association.

hello boys and girls,

im in need of an Arduino unit for Mathos control unit, i got two units off Lael now and both are doing the same thing, i belive it to be the Arduino unit not the controller.

please any advice is treasured

Caveman you haven't really said what the problem is? It's a little difficult for anyone here to help if you don't say what the issue is

bugger caught up in the soldering iron

had unit stolen from my work bench several months ago, was working,
got it back,
and then the first problem was the temp probe measurement was recording a maxed out result, tryed several temp probes, all the same
bought a new controller off Lael and pluged all together and now the screen lights up then fads very quickly (no display) now (5mins ago) the trac (power dio) on the Arduino is getting very hot and the screen only blink on then dies,

got the feeling im not ment to suceed with an all grain brew system

I was putting together a list of items / posts that might be helpful for someone looking to build a brau-clone, and was going to include it in a PM when people ask for kits. It turned out to be really long. So here is the list and I'll link to this post instead :)

The Thread that started it all: Matho's NextGen build http://aussiehomebrewer.com/topic/57924-braumeister-nextgen-build/

The Matho's controller thread where Matho decided to make something the rest of us could build - Thank YOU Matho!!: http://aussiehomebrewer.com/topic/59563-mathos-controller/

Some posts that might help you get all the pieces for the kit together etc:

Notes I made when researching to build my clone:

pdf's of other people's builds

kitbuild_c document (updated instructions for PCB assembly - still refer to matho's instructions included in the link below)

Where I got all my parts etc ordered from in an excel document:
http://aussiehomebrewer.com/topic/69155-bonjuino-and-mathos-controller-30/page-5#entry1024063 - note I didn't include delivery prices and somewhat inevitable over-ordering of items -plan ahead and you can reduce the problem.

Excel file for figuring out if your pot sizes will work for different SG beers:

Parts for the controller:

SSR: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/280776557335?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649&clk_rvr_id=562803637162
Power supply: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/280881156800?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649&clk_rvr_id=562805524338 - recommended by Matho - is no longer sold. The dimensions were: 96*58*25mm (L*W*H)
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/12V-2A-24W-Switch-Power-Supply-Driver-Converter-For-LED-Strip-Light-220V-110V-BY/ looks like it would work well also.
Temp probe: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3m-Digital-Thermal-Tank-Sensor-Horizontal-DS18B20-/251252244370?pt=AU_B_I_Electrical_Test_Equipment&hash=item3a7fccff92&clk_rvr_id=562802678435

Code etc for the controller:

The code "sketch" for the arduino: https://github.com/mathoaus/braumiser-controller/blob/master/brauduino2.ino

with time delay: http://aussiehomebrewer.com/topic/72254-mathos-arduino-controller-adding-time-delay/#entry1050348

If you are loading the sketch - the libraries you will need: http://aussiehomebrewer.com/topic/72371-mathos-brauduino-odd-behaviour/#entry1033956

I've also attached some files that Matho originally uploaded - for the sake of having them all in one location that is easier to find.

I think that is pretty much everything I wish I had been told before I tried to build a brau-clone.

Final Hot tips:
1. Plan it out carefully so you know what you want to achieve, what parts you need and your total costs - I massively over-ordered on my stainless plumbing parts because of this. Allow for cost over-runs (it should still be much lower than a brau).
2. Look at other people's builds for ideas.
2. Use a fine tip soldering iron (really, it makes that much difference!)
3. If the micromatch doesn't force the ribbon cable to connect you can push the wires down into the slot with a jeweller's flat head screw driver or solder the wires into place (I just built another controller and had this problem).
4. Figure out the stand you will have the pot on before you finalise your plumbing. It makes a big difference to the configuration. A good stand makes the system much more presentable / practical and enjoyable.

Merry Christmas!

Excellent idea, intelligent post, great work. Post of the year in my book!

And Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too :)

Edit:
The Mods should take a five minute break from banning & spanking naughty members right now and pin your post for easy reference for the future poor sods facing this build :D.
