My sympathies City, to have lost someone you know in such circumstances must be a real shock.
Hearing from you about Tyler puts it in perspective that this is not just a headline - there are real people feeling and grieving right now.
I agree with your earlier point that police need non-lethal options. From the reading of some articles today it appears that the Critical Response Squad (I think that was the name) in Victoria have tasers but they are the only ones allowed to use them. Clearly the guys involved in this were not a Critical response unit (just local constabulary by the looks of it who were closest to the scene) which is a tragedy in itself.
