Checked out this company’s T-Clean S-1 Gel product which is designed to clean-up scale and heat tint after welding stainless pipes etc. It is an Indian company but states that this product “utilises innovative Australian technology for the formulation of a high adhesion stainless steel pickling gel.”

Pickling gels and liquids are necessarily nasty corrosive stuff. This is clearly well understood by the company as its product spec sheet (copy attached) says to “Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and body. Wear a gas mask, rubber gloves, acid-resistant clothes, and face shield goggles”. And it bears the following warning labels:

So I was interested, and appalled, to find the company’s YouTube channel has a short video showing the application of its gel in practice. Seems it recommends using a small child (presumably a waif of lower caste than the company owners and managers), shod in open sandals with a stick, but don’t bother giving the kid gloves, mask, apron, and eye protection. Life’s cheap.

And for posterity, here’s a still image taken from the video in case the company removes the video from its channel.

Small child? The bloke has facial hair.

Also, Feldon, I hope you don’t wear any clothes made overseas or you might be in for a rude shock.
