Just wanted to let the people out here that are thinking about getting into AG brewing know about the basic brewing Stepping Into All Grain DVD. I purchased it last week from www.basicbrewing.com only $23 australian. It is set out awesome and takes you step by step through an all grain brew. Even letting you chose to learn about step or infusion mashing and then batch or fly sparging. Really took the whole scare factor out of it and I for one will be getting my AG gear this week thanks to this video. It is deffinately worth a watch.

If at all possible, get along to a brewday and watch how it is done. Most brewers are happy to have someone sit in.

Buy a good thermometer and learn how to use it.

Have fun Maeldric.

FYI - basicbrewing now have a DVD on decoction mashing and "low-tech lagering" (strange combination of topics for a single dvd...). Anyway, just ordered a copy for myself (along with a hat and t-shirt :D ).

Cheers,
Michael.

Best to read as much as you can before taking it the AG
also you cant go past seeing somebody do it so get along to a demo or brew club
meeting and soak up the info

good luck
