Just got some info on :

Sydney Royal Beer Competition, 22 23 February 2007

"...Not to be outdone, the new Sydney Royal Beer Competition has attracted an impressive line-up of pale ales, wheat beers and golden lagers.

... The beer experts will take two days to judge just under 100 entries. "

not that many entries really. Is this a new event Sydney brewers?

googled it and found the entry form...here

$120 per entry???

I pretty sure its an industry focused event - they have yet to explore the Amatuer side - and I hope they do.

at $120  you'd think people would stop entering infected beers

Whew, saved meself a lot of money...just read that entries closed on 12/1/2007.

At that price, I'd say that it's aimed at commercial brewers (people who brew to make money) and not the homebrewer (people who brew to save money).

I'd heard, years ago, that Sydney Easter show entries closed early in the year. I was just not aware that it was not a homebrew comp.

I'll file that info in my data bank.

Don't forget those brewers who brew to try and create better beer than the big boys.
