Hey All,

What is the best way to store empty kegs for a while? I clean, rinse, dry and shoot a little C02 in there and burp, is that ok? is there meant to be no oxygen in there at all? and if so, how much gas should you pump in???

Cheers

I just clean with sodium perc. rinse and pour in a kettle of boiling water then close. The boiling water creates loads of pressure.

I just clean them (hot water and napisan), rinse, let them sit and dry out. Thats it.
Then I hit em with startsan before using them.
Cheers

I fill empty kegs with beer and store them that way.

If storing dry and open, make sure the dip tube is spotless - preferably by taking it out and giving it a good washout. I once stored a few kegs for a couple of months and leftover stuff dripped out of the dip tube into the well in the bottom and solidified  and needed a stainless steel scrubber to shift it. oops.
