Stepless Clamps

OK, I've been trying to avoid posting dumb beginner questions since I first joined AHB so I'm going out on a limb here.

I bought some gear from Craftbrewer this week so that I could get my second tap hooked up in my keg fridge. One of the purchases I made was to get a few hose clamps and Craftbrewer only seemed to stock these stepless clamps.

The thing is, I'll be buggered if I know how they work. I assume you clamp them on with a pair of pliers somehow and that they're one-time use only? If that's the case where do you clamp the things AND how would you get them off once clamped?

You crimp them with pliers at the piece that sticks out. You can buy a specific pair of pincers.

They are one use only and need to be cut off if you are replacing line.
