Although to raise one new point in favour of steel - it has much lower embedded energy than ally. So if you're REALLY environmentally concerned, using exotic metals or aluminium should be a second choice to good ol' steel.

Even though I am a greenie I probably wouldn't be too concerned about the weight of one pot in my overall impact though. Just food for thought.
