Had anyone used sodium per carb in the dishwasher ?
I want to clean a few bottles.
Just wondering if it would be a bad idea.

Most eco friendly dishwasher tablets contain percarbonate.

A couple of guys use percarbonate in the dishwasher.

Edit: Removed wrong name. Yob is the man,

We do. The missus made some up, 50-50 mix with erm.. Some soda something or other...

Washing soda.. Which is sodium carbonate

Da interwebs told her and it's boss, cleans glasses like a sonofa

We use it also, cleans everything very well and the dishwasher seems to smell nicer too. I put ~ 2 tsp into the powder dispenser and cycle as normal.

Awesome. A great and simple way to clean bottles.

Thanks
The outsides anyway. Make sure it gets up inside the bottles

We live on a property and have a grease trap on our kitchen waste water. We gave Sod. Perc. a try, and found the grease trap needed cleaning after around 3-4 weeks instead of 6-8 months using dishwasher tablets.
It did clean the dishes etc but it does not dissolve the oils and grease in the water, fine if your on a sewerage system. Back to Aldi dishwasher tablets for us.

Sod. perc. would be much better for the environment and therefore thumbs up for using it.

I think you probably need to add an alkaline agent (sodium metasilicate or sodium carbonate) to saponify the fats.

Its great to use to clean your dishwasher out. Lid full and set it on hot flat out, then dishwasher tabs

Also dishwasher + nappii-san works fantastic as an engine parts washer.... I am now allowed to say this as my ex doesnt know where I live and its beyond the statute time, along with the fact that I didnt tell her about it

heading a little :icon_offtopic:

we buy an eco friendly diswhash powder, and cut it 50/50 with washing soda... works the same but brings it from around $18 per kilo down to around $11

If you want some bulk sod perc let me know, I'm thinking about doing a club bulk buy

I just use Aldi Di-San, from cleaning brewing equipment to soaking meat smoker trays and what not. It's easy and mixed already, but if your looking into it sp0rk I'd be interested to hear yeah.
