Hey all,

I'm craving some simcoe in my brews but I'm finding it really tough to find anywhere that sells it in largish quantities or at a reasonable price. Anyone know of some US stores or something that sell Simcoe? Tried niko and hops direct, no luck. Craftbrewer sell them, but pretty pricey compared to other varieties, only come in pellets and can only buy one pack per order. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Simcoe is currently unavailable and will be until the new crop is harvested and pelletised in th US.
It has become pretty popular with the Micro's and supply and demand means prices may be higher than other varieties.

Try US magnum, POR is way different to simco anyway as far as bittering goes.

Yeah I realise it is, I was actually making a change to my Alpha Pale Ale clone recipe, I thought the Simcoe as a bittering hop might give it some of that piney characteristic that's missing. I'll look up Magnum and see about that one....Cheers
