mmmm

And goat, I know they're built solid, I also told myself I'd never upgrade - but here I am with a Expobar Minore 2 on order, ready to ship when my tex return comes through

$2300 worth, more expensive than all my brewing gear put together.... hmm then i may as well upgrade the grinder too... how about something without the frustrating steps of the rocky? I think a mini mazzer is the go, only another $600 odd.... d'oh! and I thought brewing was expesive to set up! hah! :p nah I think the rocky will do fine until next years tax :p

Does this sudden interest in coffee give me an excuse to stock some coffee machines (I would of course need to do some "testing")

Some highquality and cheap popcorn poppers might be a good idea...

I use a heatgun, Superautomatica capper and an old bread maker. Makes a great semi-automated roasting system. :beerbang:

Nice Sammus !

Is that a PID off the side of the Syliva ? If so, how much did you pay for it and how hard is it to install ?- I've been thinking of doing that to mine.

i noticed that pid too! interested in how much it cost as i am looking to buy one in the near future.

For sure Sammus, that Minore is a pretty nice bit of gear. If I was ever going to upgrade (and I won't be, really, I promise) I would upgrade to one of those. Shiny.

Man, is this making me want a coffee or what!? I get by with a Delta dripolator-style machine...which I got for $6.80 at Aldi. I'll spare you the pictures haha. Ah, the life of a student...

But it makes a decent brew, and seeing as I like my coffee black without anything added other than water, it seems to be doing me fine for the moment. I feel anything more would probably just be wasted on me, hahaha.

Commercial machines for the win!

Sorry about the sucky quality photos.

Thanks to Goatherder et al who set me straight on the Roast your own Beans malarchy.

Got some beans from Coffeesnobs, Some Dogbowls from Big W - already had the heat gun.

What a doddle - Im sure I havent mastered it yet but initial taste tests are favourable - freshly brewed beer, freshly roasted coffee - superb.

For anyone who wants to see how simple it is - here is the link I used as a pictorial guide.

Well its good to see Mods and Admin have moved this to the appropriate sub forum,Hey RM ;)

Any way I've got one of these cheapies as well and it makes a lurvley short black with plenty of sexy Crema.

breville-espresso-maker-roma.jpg

We bought a couple of these, but the cheaper black version from the Breville 2nd's shop @ $59. One for work, and one for my home. A bunch of us here went shares in it ($7.50) and have been using it for the past 1.5 years.

Let me tell you, it has been punching out roughly 20-30 top coffees all day every day since we got it. It has a few leaks now, but is showing no signs of letting up yet. When it finally carks it, we're gonna buy another one the same.
A top little machine indeed. It's either that or nescafe Blend 43 they supply here.
