A colleague sent me these photos of refrigerated shipping containers at East Swanson Dock in Melbourne, which were transporting yeast. Apparently the power was disconnected en route between Sydney and Melbourne.

Looks like the stevedore may be in a spot of bother for taking the reefers off power.

Not just one container by the looks of it.

That is a buttload of yeast! That's gotta hurt to replace.
 
Why the hell would you ship yeast with fermentables present?

judging by how badass that pciture is, the yeast is probably the rare Saccharomyces Chucknorrisae variant, fermenting the shipping container.
 
Kraft may be interested - it is probably halfway to Vegemite...

On the plus side for the container manufacturer, it shows how air tight the door seals are on the containers, tougher than the roof it seems.
