evening all!!

just got my turkey burner and hooked it up this evening.. I srewed on the high preasure reg turned the gas on and lit, my prob is every time i turn the gas up on the bottle the flame goes out.

there is another gas control that screws onto the back of the burner but wont fit onto the reg. is this the prob??

Sounds like you're not getting enough air in, you may have to actually remove the air diffuser to get enough flow.

Do you have a kettle on the burner? If not, the kettle will help the flame stay lit, I think the gas velocity tends to blow the flame out without the kettle on.

Hey Scrumpy,

Best to pull the burner apart and hit it with a wire brush to remove all of the paint and other crap that will be in there. Most times the jets are blocked so give them special attention. Once its clean you will have a better flame and also save yourself from some noxious fumes.

While you've got the wire brush out hit the stand as well.

Cheers

They behave very differently with a pot on them, no point in mucking around and adjusting it unless you have a vessel on there.

Start at a lower preasure and let her heat up a bit. Crank up the preasure quickly and if the burner starts to surge then screw in the reg faster! To be honest I dont find that the air diffuser does much but I close it up a bit while I have the burner on low preasure. If you feed on the preasure slowly the burner will just blow itself out.

This is why I find the burners with the adjuster dial on the burner itself are alot easier to light as they allow you to get the burner lit by letting a little gas flow and then you can crack the knob open and she will take off.
