Hi Guys, I have a problem with an old Sanke keg of mine. I usually use a Tooheys style keg but thoguth I would give these sanke ones a go. I Have refilled the keg and the spear seems to be not tightening back up once I get it in the correct position, its like tightening a cap on a bottle too tightly and the cap pops off again. I can manage to get it a little bit tight and when I gas the spear pops up again. Has something rounded off in the keg or the spear? and if so how can I fix? Has anyone had a similiar problem?

Cheers.

Do you still have the circlip?

If the circlip isn't fitted the spear it will pop out again once it gets pressurised. I drilled 2 small holed in the circlip and used circlip pliers to put it back in as per the article on in the wiki.

May literally turn it into a spear, be carefull.

Thanks for the advise, yes you are correct I got rid of the circlip. Im not sure how but I managed to get one brew to work with out the circlip, I looked for a tool to open the keg but there about $80 from America and the clip pliers are $30 so I think I will just stick to using German slider style kegs.
