Hello all.

I was going to list a brand new Samsung Blu Ray player on Evilbay until I realised the fees for listing would be about $13!!!

So I thought I'd make a thread here just in case someone here wanted to buy it.

It's brand new completely unopened. I got it via redemption when I bought my new TV but I don't really want a blu ray player, so when I bought the TV I made a decision I'd sell it and it'd make the TV's purchase price cheaper.

It's a Samsung BDP-1500. The RRP is $499 or so I believe. You can probably get them in shops for $400 though. I'm looking for $300 and I'll throw in free courier delivery to most parts of Australia or pickup in the Brisbane area. EFT transfer, Paypal, and cash (pickup) accepted.

I'm also open to reducing the price if some useful home brew gear is thrown in, particularly looking for a drip tray suitable for a T bar 4 tap flooded font, or some things to help with BIAB (elements, taps, false bottoms etc)

Bit of a long shot but thought I'd rather sell it to someone here than support ebay and someone may rather buy here as they may trust someone from here more than a seller on ebay.

cheers.

I picked up one of these on ebay for under $250

very happy with it.

Ross I'll give you a call later on if you don't mind (after work)

Hahaha, I can just see it now...Craftbrewer selling electronics....I wonder how I could build a blu-ray into my AG setup....

Guys, I've also got one of these bad-boys I've been meaning to sell as well. (Hope Mark doesn't take issue with me hi-jacking the thread now his is sold! :p )
Circumstances and condition (i.e. It's brand new completely unopened) are identical to Mark's one.

I'm looking for a $300ono and will include regular, registered post delivery with any reasonable offer.

Includes 5-6" HDMI cable, so there's a $50ish saving already!

Model is BDP-1500.

I just bought a new Samsung LCD and Im about to start filling out the forms to get the blu ray sent out to me. Anyone able to advise how long it usually takes to get sent out, and why are people on selling them?

Is it due to lack of interest? Crappy players? Already own a blu ray player?

Bubba Q - I think the official delivery line from Samsung was 5weeks?
That said, mine was one of the very first shipments to arrive in August/September last year, so I had to wait a little while for mine.

I've not used my one personally, so I can't comment from experience, but...
The unit itself has received excellent reviews. (see http://www.digitalversus.com/article-482-3817-36.html as an example).
Most people who are selling them either already have a BR player, don't need one, or don't want one.

Personally, I run an HTPC for all my multi-media content so I have no requirement for a BlueRay player.
Plus, when I will need one I'll just install a BR drive into the PC and be done with it.

I sold mine because I need the money really. I don't really want to buy any Bluray discs. I mean I'd love to but I look at my DVD collection and think what a waste of money, so I don't know if I could really go and do the same thing over again with bluray just because it looks better. Know what I mean?

Trust me I looked at the box many a time and was tempted to open it. Would love to watch a handful of movies on Bluray.
