Just reading the AHA forum and it seems that Jim Koch is sending 2 free Sam Adams pint glasses to every American Homebrewer Association member. I wonder if this extends to international members? Any other AHA members out there who may have heard whether or not we're also in store for a pressie?

Cheers,
Michael. :)

Hope so, but doubt it! Sending packages of glasses overseas may be stretching the generosity a bit, but you never know!

I think the wording on the letter is actually misleading, and the glasses are for founding members of Beer Advocate Magazine.
See this topic

I have my fingers crossed.

Althought some of the guys over at Northern Brewer are saying their letter says AHA.
Maybe Beer Advocate started the ball rolling, and BBC have sent them out to BA and AHA members ????

Doc

Definitely two separate things. Here's a portion of a posting to the AHA forum which summarizes the letter received by one of the AHA members:

The enclosed letter from Jim Koch states, in part, "... I decided that I was going to find the perfect glass for Samuel Adams Boston Lager, and as a member of the American Homebrewers Association, I wanted to share the results with you." The letter continues, "... As an AHA member you have showed the same commitment that we craft brewers have to the brewer's art."

Fingers crossed...

Cheers,
Michael. :)

And a glimmer of hope.

I live in Alaska and they were shipped UPS Ground.

Do UPS still do international economy ?

Looks like members of AHA, All About Beer and Beer Advocate are all receiving the glasses. Different letters depending on which Mag you are subscribed too.

I wrote to TechTalk and asked the question, so hopefully we will find out in a few days whether ot not the genorosity extends to us. sadly, I will be surprised if it does, but we can only hope. Will get a 6 pack of Sam Adams when I get to the states, in support of em now! And if I win the Lotto between now and then, I will make it a 6er or Utopias!

Nothing has arrived on my door yet, but I'm only a recent US subscriber (AHA and Beer Advocate)...

But thinking about it, there would be an awful lot of folks getting glasses if they sent out to all AHA subscribers; aren't they up at 8,000 odd now?

Trent - the Sam Adam's Boston Lager is pretty readily available here in Oz FYI (at least on the Gold Coast). Never seen any of their other beers outside the US however.... :(

Cheers,
Michael.

Yeah, I know they are available here, but they are much better fresh, and I will be over there in less than 3 weeks. Much prefer their other beers over the boston lager (loved the Boston Ale when I was living in London - my work sold it on tap), but as far as lagers go, it is a pretty good drop, and I could do worse than pick up some of their beers.
All the best
Trent

I just read some news on the AHA list:

Boston Beer Co is only able to send glasses to members with U.S. (except for Texas and California) addresses.

Not looking good for us Aussies. I'm assuming the same will apply to BA subscribers. :(

Sigh.... :( Kind of expected that would be the case however.

Interestingly, they didn't send any glasses to anyone who was under 21 or to anyone for whom they weren't able to verify their age.

Maybe it's time to design some Propeller Head glasses..... :p

Cheers,
Michael.
