Just reading a few old threads about brewing a salted caramel beer but the discussion finished with no one really posting there results,

maybe I should take that as a bad sign. Any way can any one comment on the subject that's had experience with this style?

I am also interested in this, has been done commercially but haven't seen any results from home brewers.

You might have to take one for the team and try brewing it :)

Toybox did a cracker in QABC last year.

I've tried two... A US brown with salted caramel and an English brown recently.

Both very good, each brewer seemed to add something along the lines of Nigella's salted caramel recipe minus the fat.

Worked well with both the drier US brown and the sweeter UK brown.

Of the examples I've tried, I preferred the caramel being more subtle and melding with the rest of the beer than being the main flavour present.

Brew with lots of diacetyl to save on the caramel?
