I noticed CraftBrewer had S-33 yeast on special for $0.90 the other day.

I've never used it so can anyone tell me what it's best used for and if it's any good? I haven't seen it in any other online or local shops so I was curious.

The yeast is a type that can withstand high alcohol conditions and used for T.rappist style or Belgian style beers.

I like to make a lot of heavy english style ales and high alcohol toucan mixes so it sounds like it would be pretty good from what you are saying.

For that price I think I'll have to stock up.

Weyermann recommend its use in quite a few styles of beer, including, Kolsch, Stout & weissbier.
