From New Scientist.

Dubbed Adam, the robot is the handiwork of researchers at Aberystwyth University and the University of Cambridge in the UK. All by itself it discovered new functions for a number of genes in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, aka brewer's yeast.
Looks like those folk with degrees in yeast genetics are screwed. :p

When the robot's take over the world, at least they'll know a bit about brewing! :beerbang:

Oh shit, it was MEANT to be a secret.

The team is now working on a new robot, called Eve, which will search for new drugs.
UNQUOTE

Same old, same old. Women do the nurturing, men do the boozing.

Were not screwed yet. Robots cant taste beer or like drinking it. At least until Bender is invented :p

depends on your definition of taste, in terms of 'sensory ability' robots have already surpassed humans and leaps and bounds.. the only missing thing is data. if someone loaded a HPLC or GCMS backed with a neural network could actually be trained to tell what is a good beer and what's bad. :)
