I was just having a read of that.. absolutely terrible news.

RIP.

RIP.

Poor ol' Mike Catt still doesn't know what hit him.

I knew he had some kidney problems - but ****!..

I'll be stuffed. Never knew about any kidney problems, but would have thought he'd still be very fit and outlive us all. My wishes go to his friends and family.

One thing I do recall very clearly is that he was a man of deeply held convictions, especially in his Catholic beliefs. Until the Bishop of his diocese convinced him it was alright, he refused to play football on Sundays (and that included everything from club to Test footy).

RIP Jonah.

Even for a non-rugby-fanboi he was one of the most amazing athletes to watch. Virtually unstoppable in his peak, just tearing straight through opposition defenses. And seemed such a great man off the field.

I was lucky enough to watch him play a few times. The man had size, speed, talent and ticker.

I was at a Brumbies vs Hurricanes game where he was doing the pre-game warm up right in front of our seats. He looked like a well built 2nd row, amazing that he could run 100 meters in under 11 seconds.

Renal failure cut his rugby career short unfortunately. It's scary to think what he would have achieved if he'd remained healthy.

This is a recent ad for Heineken he featured in just before the world cup. His health must have deteriorated quickly since then.

one of the legends, both on and off the paddock, terrible news for his young kids in particular.
Well said Seamad. One of the most humble, unaffected players to have run onto a paddock.

We have lost much more than a rugby player, he was a wonderful example for young sports people. He battled a tough childhood, worked hard to be a great player and stayed loyal to his family.

RIP.

Anthony
