Brewer's Notes

Early days on this one. However first few pints are fantastic with the characteristic US Brown Choc/Orange character. Watch this space I'll report more over time.
Note: Flaked wheat is actually flaked barley. When will they add it to this database?
Willamette is New Zealand variety. Flameout addition was added to the hopback.
Yeast was repitched US56. Last time I repitch a whole slurry. Bloody thing spent around 4 days spewing out the carboy mouth.
Tasting update: 2 weeks in the keg and it's an OK, easy drinking beer but nothing special. With benefit of hindsight I'd have used an ale malt rather than BB pale. Leans out the malt body too much and allows the colour malts and hops to dominate leading to a slightly waterish edge. Coffee/Toffee and earthy hops predominate.
