The hopmonster has my attentions :p
Seriously considering fuelling up the car and going for a drive this arvo :p

Doc

Do it, Doc. Worth the trip for sure.

I'm heading to the Hunter mid August for a few days after my cousin's wedding in Newcastle. I'm sure I could convince my wife to drop in for a couple.

Maybe tempt her with lunch there. If you convince her to do the afternoon driving, the six taster paddle is worth a try. Make sure it includes the hop monster as one of them. :chug:

Unfortunately she doesn't have her licence, so I'll be doing all the driving. SHe has had her learners for 13 years...

Didn't get confirmation on whether there was any left (didn't want to do a 3hr return trip for no reward) so have left my run too late now :(

I think u will find its all goooorrrrrrrrn. U should of been at Keiths Farwell where we demolished possibly the last of it from a 5 litre keg. Great stuff.

Cheers, SJW. I was on a plane coming back from the US, otherwise I would have come up for it.

Beers,
Doc

I am going up to the hunter for a bucks wknd in August, think we might have to stop in at the brewery so my friends can try some real beers. :beerbang:
Eric

It was still on tap the weekend before last. I gave it my best but I think it was still pouring when I left...

ive still got a longy of it left ;) if id known there was none left i wouldnt have drank the other 4 last night! :D

Had a bite to eat and a few beers tonight some friends tonight, including Keith the Beer; he mentioned in passing that the "Hop Monster" might not make it through the weekend.

So is this where we start the slow auction for the magnum siting on my desk? :p

Well, no convincing needed... My wife has booked a night at Potters, so I'll be able to taste all the beers I want! She was in the process of enquiring with them while I was posting on this thread yesterday. What a champion!

Arrrghhh crushed. I had one last sunday, and was more than prepared to go for an hours drive in the coming weeks to try it again.

I am guessing that it is a seasonal...correct. does anyone know when they are likely to make another batch?

My magnum is stored safely in the gimp room under the stairs, awaiting the daughters 1st birthday.
I cannot stop thanking you MHB! haha

Hmmm, seeing that locally grown hops were included, I'd say that the next batch will not occur until after the next hop harvest. I'd say, next May (2008, that is).

It all depends on Trent's availability to assist with the harvest next year, as a quality control measure of course.

Seth :p

Cmon Les
You know that I am always ready to assist when it comes to "quality control assistance" of great beers! Next time, though, I may take something to help clean the green off my hands - woulda been fun trying to explain that one to the officer had I have been pulled up. And after the hospitality shown to me by Luke and Keith, they are going to have to issue a restraining order to keep me away next year :beerbang:
All the best
Trent

Trent, if Keith and Luke find out that you're a brewer they always look after you.

They might even be happy if you take one of your samples along. I have offered to take a Saison, a Weissbier and a Ruination-y ale next time I visit.

Seth out :p

Ahhh Seth. I've said it before, but I'll say it again - I love your style.

Of course all are welcome and please, and AHB'ers out there feel free to introduce yourself to me.

Every day is a great day to talk beer.

They are just in it for the money and the women B)

I have my bottle in safe keeping for a special day....... or if my kegs run dry.

Its not for sale.

Fresh out of Hop Monster. :(

I took some of the family up to Potters for lunch and a few beers last w/e. Everybody (even the kids) had a great time.

Caught up with Keith and toured the brewery - Fantastic hospitality. Thanks Keith, the family was most impressed.

Lunch was good also. The kids actually ate there meals instead of throwing them at each other so thats a pretty good review in our books.

We did the tourist tasting rack thing with lunch so they got to try them all.
It was a close call for the table favourite but the Wit just edged out the Kolsch in the final turn. I wasnt allowed to vote (something about my taste being in my ar$e I have trouble understanding these non-brewing terms) but the Bock was my choice.

Id tried the Hop Monster before (Keiths farewell) and was salivating over the prospect of having a few after lunch but buggame the last keg was drained dry just before I got out to the other bar. Thatll learn me to put food before beer.
Luckily the replacement was very tasty Oktoberfest (thanks for the heads up Keith) which is well worth trying if youre passing by.

Gday also to Head and your better half hope you had a good day too.

Thanks again Keith, it was a great day. :chug:
