Northern Brewer

Hi,

Have been confused for quite some time as to the origin and usages of northern brewer, is it a german or english hop, or both. I've heard it gives a noblish german hop flavour, which seems off base with a english bittering hop. Just need some clarification.

There is both German and a US Northern Brewer hop varieties.

I have been using northern brewer as a bittering hop (good value at 9.8 a.a) It does the job (saves using a packet of low a.a aroma hops each brew)
